Clerks the Knowledge Part 1

This is a three-part course is offered virtually. Although do note that we can arrange for clerks to attend an in-person one-to-one session. Each online part is a two-hour session and covers the basics that all new clerks need to know.

Roles, Responsibilities, and Core Practices

This foundational module introduces new clerks to the key roles and responsibilities of council members and officers. Participants will learn the essentials of agenda preparation, effective minute-taking, and managing core documents. The session also covers the statutory duties of councils and how to access vital legal advice and guidance. This interactive two-hour session equips clerks with the skills needed to confidently navigate their role and support council operations effectively.
