Clerks the Knowledge Part 1
This is the first module of our three-part course, available both online and in person. Each session is two hours long and is tailored for new clerks who need to grasp the essentials of their role.
Part 1: Roles, Responsibilities, and Core Council Practices
In Part 1, participants will gain a thorough understanding of the roles and responsibilities of council members and officers, along with the processes involved in setting agendas and recording minutes. The session covers key council documents, core duties, and the legal advice and guidance necessary to perform these tasks effectively.
This interactive session provides a solid foundation for clerks, helping them navigate their role with confidence and clarity from the outset.
The fee is £45 per two-hour session, and clerks can choose to attend virtually or face-to-face. This course is designed to provide clerks with a comprehensive overview of their responsibilities and introduce them to the vital aspects of local governance.
