This is a three-part course is offered virtually. Although do note that we can arrange for clerks to attend an in-person one-to-one session. Each online part is a two-hour session and covers the basics that all new clerks need to know.

Planning, Engagement and Development

Focusing on planning, community engagement, and professional growth, this module explores the fundamentals of local planning processes, strategies for effective community involvement, and methods to secure grants for council projects. Participants will also be introduced to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and the Local Council Award Scheme, providing tools to enhance their career and the council’s services. This interactive two-hour session is ideal for clerks looking to expand their expertise and impact in the community
