Clerks the Knowledge Part 2

This is the second module of our two-part course, available both online and in person. Each session is two hours long and is tailored for new clerks who need to grasp the essentials of their role.

Part 2 focusses on planning, engagement and finance

Participants will explore the basics of local planning, effective community engagement, and looks at governance and accountability, including year-end accounts, budgets and precept setting, VAT and the council's Financial Regulations.

This interactive session provides a solid foundation for clerks, helping them navigate their role with confidence and clarity from the outset.

The fee is £45 per two-hour online session. Clerks can also choose to engage this training in an in-person, one-to-one session (for a quote and details please contact us). This course is designed to provide clerks with a comprehensive overview of their responsibilities and introduce them to the vital aspects of local governance.
