Clerks the Knowledge Part 3

This is a three-part course is offered virtually. Although do note that we can arrange for clerks to attend an in-person one-to-one session. Each online part is a two-hour session and covers the basics that all new clerks need to know.

Finance Fundamentals

This module provides clerks with a comprehensive overview of council finance management, including year-end accounts, budgeting, precept setting, and governance. Key topics such as VAT regulations, borrowing procedures, and financial accountability are covered to ensure compliance and effective resource management. Designed to build confidence in handling council finances, this two-hour interactive session equips clerks with the knowledge needed to support their council’s financial health and meet audit requirements.
