Parish and town councils are uniquely placed to drive local climate action, engaging communities, influencing behaviour, and implementing grassroots initiatives to tackle the climate and nature emergency. This toolkit supports councils by providing practical steps to gather evidence, engage residents, declare a climate emergency, and develop effective action plans. We point our members to a variety of important, useful resources to take meaningful steps to reduce carbon emissions, protect biodiversity, and strengthen community resilience.
